The San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday presented the addition of former Eagles quarterback Nate Sudfeld on a one-year contract.
Sudfeld, 27, was a sixth-round preserve cease out of Indiana by the Washington Soccer Team in the 2016 draft. He was slash by Washington in 2017 and claimed by the Eagles the build he spent the following four seasons.
In some unspecified time in the future of his time in the NFL, Sudfeld has accomplished in barely four games and not using a begins. He’s executed 25 of his 37 throws for 188 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
San Francisco now has four quarterbacks on their roster with but every other most likely joining the membership because the No. 3 overall preserve cease in this year’s draft. Head coach Kyle Shanahan most continuously likes to to find three quarterbacks on the last roster with two active on sport days and but every other as a command in the quarterback room.
The unprecedented man out is perchance former Josh Johnson, who signed with the membership slow last season and inked a reserve/futures deal this offseason. Provided that he’s soon to be 35 and wasn’t rostered as of November last season, his days as a viable NFL backup are doubtlessly over.
Sudfeld could well maybe peaceful compete for the QB3 job with Josh Rosen reckoning on the 49ers’ thought with the third-overall preserve cease.
