SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California man who killed his wife and propped up her body on a sofa as her formative years opened Christmas gifts used to be convicted Wednesday of second-stage assassinate.
William Wallace, 39, of Anaheim can also face 15 years to life in penal advanced when he’s sentenced in June, the Orange County district attorney’s space of labor stated in a commentary.
Za’Zell Preston, 26, used to be taking college classes in hopes of becoming a domestic violence counselor when she used to be fatally beaten on Dec. 24 or early Dec. 25 in 2011 by Wallace, who already had served detention center time for beating her, the commentary stated.
Prosecutors stated the couple had gone to a neighbor’s Christmas Eve birthday celebration, and a neighbor described listening to an argument later that night time.
The next morning, in line with the prosecution, Wallace dragged his wife’s body from the bedroom to the lounge couch, placed shades on her and urged the formative years: “Mommy ruined Christmas, she acquired underneath the influence of alcohol and ruined Christmas.”
He then had them open their Christmas gifts, authorities stated.
Wallace’s attorney argued that Preston died from injuries after she drunkenly tripped and fell loyal into a tumbler table, shattering it.
Preston used to be slumped over on the couch when paramedics arrived. She left a 7-week-aged son and two daughters from a outdated relationship, who were then 3 and 8 years aged.
