Pelicans’ DiDi Louzada Suspended 25 Games for Violating PED Coverage

The NBA announced Friday that Contemporary
Orleans Pelicans forward Didi Louzada was suspended 25 video games without
pay for a violation of the league’s anti-drug program.

Louzada, who’s split time between
the Pelicans and the G League’s Birmingham Squadron, examined obvious
for the steroid drostanolone and testosterone.

The 22-one year-broken-down Brazilian was a
2nd-spherical take of the Atlanta Hawks within the 2019 draft. He was
traded to Contemporary Orleans a couple of weeks later when a swap featuring assorted
possibilities from that one year’s draft, including De’Andre Hunter, Jaxson

Louzada spent the previous two years
playing for the Sydney Kings in Australia’s Nationwide Basketball
League. He signed a contract with the Pelicans in April and, after
making three appearances within the latter stages of the 2020-21 season,
re-signed with the crew in August.

David Griffin, Contemporary Orleans’ executive
vp of basketball operations, commented after the front

Louzada performed seven minutes all over two
appearances for the Pelicans this season. He’s averaged 14 functions in 30.5 minutes in two video games for the Squadron.

He was recalled from the G League on
Sunday but he hadn’t looked in any contests this week.

His suspension begins with Friday
night’s sport against the Los Angeles Clippers. He’ll be eligible to
return Jan. 11 when the Pelicans face the Minnesota Timberwolves.
