The cumulative wealth of the top 100 women in India rose by 53% during the past five years, amounting to Rs4,16,970 crore, or about 2% of the country’s nominal GDP. As of December 31, 2021, these women are worth a combined $1,054 billion. The list includes the top 20 richest women in India and ten other women with net worths over $50 million.
Renu Munjal
Forbes ranked Renu Munjal as the richest woman in India. She has an estimated net worth of Rs. 8,690 crore and holds stakes in paper, cement, and manufacturing industries. She is also a board director at Hero MotoCorp and manages a vocational training center. The former teacher began her career in education before joining her family’s business. Other women who hold high net worths include Malika Chirayu Amin, CEO of Alembic Pharmaceuticals, and Ritu Varma, a former employee of the family.
Another woman with a high net worth is Kanika Krishnamurthy. The mother and daughter duo founded a startup called JetSetGo in 2012, which is considered India’s Uber of the skies. Arista has since gone public with revenues of USD 2.3 billion. Ullal owns 5% of the company. Her wealth has grown with her company’s revenue, and she is expected to be a billionaire by 2020.
At the age of 45, Jayshree Ullal is the youngest billionaire in India. Her net worth is USD 1.4 billion and she owns about 5 per cent of Arista stock. Born in London, she was raised in India. She co-founded the company Syntel with her husband Bharat Desai, and now owns around $1 billion in equity. In October of 2018, Atos SE bought the company for USD 3.4 billion.

The latest Hurun report has revealed that Radha Vembu is one of the top 10 richest women in India, with a net worth of $1.5 billion. She is the co-founder and executive director of Zoho Corporation. She has been working in the software industry for over 20 years, and has built her company into a global leader with over 4,000 employees. Vembu was born in Tamil Nadu, and studied computer science at the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras.
Radha Vembu has a net worth of Rs 129 thousand crores, mainly due to her stake in the cloud software company Zoho. The two Vembu siblings are also among the top 100 richest women in India, ranking 55th in the Forbes India Rich List 2021. Their combined net worth is over Rs 285 billion.
