White Home press secretary Jen Psaki said that the Biden administration is “deeply concerned” about tennis player Peng Shuai’s disappearance and is asking on the Chinese government to earn “unbiased, verifiable proof” of her whereabouts.

Why it issues: Peng has no longer been seen since she accused China’s frail vice premier of sexual assault earlier this month. China’s advise-controlled media suppressed all reporting on the case.

The astronomical image: Peng wrote a lengthy social media put up accusing a frail vice premier of China’s ruling party of sexual assault, per AP, but the put up has since been removed.

What they’re asserting: “[Any] document of sexual assault needs to be investigated and make stronger a girl’s ability to talk out and use accountability,” Psaki said at a press convention on Friday.

  • “[We will] continue to face up for the freedom of speech and we know the PRC has zero tolerance for criticism and a epic of silencing other folks that talk out and we continue to sentence these practices,” Psaki added.
